Every morning she puts one on
A veil, to cover shame,
To cover her beautiful face,
Undeserving of blame.
She’s one of many,
She blends right in.
A veil hides her beauty
From each of her friends.
But is true beauty in revealing?
Or a secret kept hid?
He wants it for her protection.
We see it a sin.
We see a dominant figure,
A controlling man.
When maybe a loving husband’s protection,
We just don’t understand.
